D.W. Gregory is an award-winning playwright and teaching artist. She is mostly known for her play Radium Girls, but has written many other plays that similarly comment on political issues by interrogating the strife of specific individuals. Unlike Radium Girls, many of her works include comedic elements. Among her other works are Memoirs of a Forgotten Man, Molumby鈥檚 Million, The Good Daughter, October 1962, The Yellow Stocking Play, So Tell Me About This Guy, and _Salvation Road.
_In addition to being a playwright and a member of the Dramatists鈥� Guild, Gregory is devoted theater education and has been an artist in residence at many educational institutions. She specializes in writing for youth theater, and intentionally creates strong roles for female-identifying actors.
Gregory has won many awards for her new works and contributions, including the American Alliance for Theatre in Education鈥檚 Playwrights in Our Schools Award. She has also received support from the National Endowment for the Arts. Gregory resides in Washington D.C. but has traveled the United States to serve in short-term residencies and offer one-day workshops.
