David Mitchell is an Australian writer, director, and producer. He has written material for artists and presenters such as Barbara Streisand, Bob Hope, Michael Parkinson, Barry Humphries, and Clive James. Mitchell co-wrote the stage musicals Shout! The Legend of the Wild One (with John-Michael Howson), Better Known as Bee, and Tropical Nights. He teamed up with Howson again to write Dusty: The Original Pop Diva, which was a huge hit. Most recently Mitchell co-wrote Doris Day: So Much More Than the Girl Next Door which toured Australia in 2011/12.
