Born in London, Ben Elton is a British comedian, author, playwright, and librettist. He is primarily known for his scriptwriting on the television sitcoms The Young Ones and Blackadder, as well as being a stand up comedian and actor. Ben Elton has written 15 novels and the books to the musicals We Will Rock You, Love Never Dies, Tonight's the Night, and The Beautiful Game. He has also written five plays including, most recently, The Upstart Crow, which opened in February 2020.
