Eleven different women reveal their desires, fears, and vulnerabilities in eleven poignant monologues. Jane Martin’s Talking With is sometimes funny, sometimes painful, but always moving. The play uses direct address and a minimal set, with basic furnishings to represent specific locales for each monologue. The order of the monologues is flexible, though the playwright prefers starting with “Fifteen Minutes and ending with “Marks. It is imperative that the play not be performed as a one-woman show. Talking With also offers powerful and challenging monologues for female actors.
