A prolific singer/songwriter, vocalist, and musician. Kirkpatrick's songs have been recorded by numerous artists, including Faith Hill, Garth Brooks, Martina McBride, Wynonna Judd, Trisha Yearwood, Bonnie Raitt, and Eric Clapton, whose version of Kirkpatrick's "Change the World" won the Grammy Award for Song of the Year. Kirkpatrick is also a music producer; he is most well-known for his long-time collaboration with the band Little Big Fish. At the 1993 GMA Dove Awards, Kirkpatrick won Producer of the Year.
