Text

Start:

Lucy: Miss Dashwood. Please pardon me, but I wonder if I might ask you something rather odd? Pray, are you closely acquainted with your sister-in-law’s mother, Mrs. Ferrars?

Elinor: No. I have never met her.

Lucy: Truly? Oh. I supposed she might have visited Norland sometimes.

End:

Elinor: No.

Lucy: I am sorry for that; we could have spent many happy hours together! Anne and I are going in December to see some relations -- but I am really going to see my darling Edward. (Leaning in, quietly.) I will, of course, give him your very, very best.
