Start: Mother: The author is awake, I see. They live their lives very differently in the big city! Old as I am, I’ve already been to church and done a full day’s wash. Sleepin� ‘til ten! (Barrie picks up sheet from the clothes basket) Here, and what do you think you’re doing?
Barrie: I’ve come down to help.
