Text

The lights go come up on EMILY and ANA opens another folder and reads...

OFFICER SMITH: How are you doing Emily? Do you like your room?

EMILY: Yes, sir. You're not going to call my parents, are you?

OFFICER SMITH: We did. Why?

EMILY: No, I can't leave Sonny. He loves me.

ANA: Does he?

EMILY: He is the only one who ever has.

OFFICER SMITH: Emily, I have information that Sonny paid money to your uncles for you. Do you remember that?

EMILY: Yes, but Sonny bought me because I'm special.

OFFICER SMITH: Does he say he's your boyfriend?

EMILY: Yes.

ANA: Emily, can you tell me your story?

EMILY: Story?

OFFICER SMITH: When you were first abused?

EMILY: (Slow and tentative) My uncles began doing stuff to me when I was eight. They began selling me shortly after that out of my parents' home.
