Afternoon. Lounge room. Couch. The sound of a baseball game.

WAYNE watches the TV, wearing a Yankees t-shirt. He sips a beer.

SIMON enters.

SIMON: Who’s playing?

WAYNE: Yankees and Diamond-backs.

SIMON: Yankees up?

WAYNE: Killing them.

SIMON: You need another?

WAYNE: (INDICATING BEER) On the way nicely.

SIMON: Back in a tic.

SIMON EXITS. BEAT. SIMON RETURNS WITH A BEER. HE SITS ON

THE COUCH. HE OPENS HIS BEER AND DRINKS.

SIMON: Who’s up?

WAYNE: A-Rod.

SIMON: What innings?

WAYNE: Bottom of the 4th. Yankees hit three homers already.

BEAT. THEY WATCH THE TV.

WAYNE: Hot out there?

SIMON: Pretty.

WAYNE: Good we’re inside then.

SIMON: Yeah.

WAYNE: Watching the baseball.

BEAT.

SIMON: Ask you a question?

WAYNE: My pleasure.

SIMON: If you � in a dream it means you � in life too, doesn’t it?

WAYNE:
