The first time I saw these mountains I was a boy� The world was contained in the pages of a book for me, and here it was opening up before me like� the world.

The look of shock. Hurt, even. That I would think such a thing. I regretted the words the instant they were out of my mouth. But that doesn’t mean they weren’t true.
