Introduction

Marianne Elliott was born in London in 1966, the daughter of renowned theatre director Michael Elliott and actress Rosalind Knight. Her grandfather was the English actor Esmond Knight. When she was 8, the family moved to Manchester so that her father could co-found the Royal Exchange Theatre. Elliott was just 17 when her father died at the age of 52. She married the English actor Nick Sidi in 2002 and the couple have one daughter.

  • 2002 - Elliott becomes the associate director of the Royal Court Theatre, London.
